VOLUME 13 NO. 39

The Sierra Madre Rose Float Association is once
again seeking applications for the position of Prin-
cess/Ambassador (in any combination of female/
male) to represent the City at local functions and
ac-tivities and to ride on our float on New Year’s
Day in the Rose Parade® presented by Honda!

This year we are searching for three (3) Princesses/
Ambassadors who will not only have the honor
of riding on the Sierra Madre float, but will have
the pleasure of speaking to the Sierra Madre City
Council and local service organizations and clubs.
In addition, they will assist with float decorating
and contrib-ute to publicity opportunities. Princesses/
Ambassadors will have a very exciting and
educational year!

 Application Guidelines and Process:

1)Applicants must be 15 to 18 years old, have at
least a 3.0 grade point average, and be a resident of
Sierra Madre.

2)Applications may be picked up at City Hall,
local High Schools, or downloaded from the Sierra
Ma-dre Rose Float Association website: www.sierramadrerosefloat.

tions submitted later than October 11 will not

The Presentation of the Sierra Madre Royal Court

This year, the Sierra Madre City Council adopted
Resolution No. 19-13 which applies the
city-wide overnight parking regulations to the
City’s public parking lots. Overnight parking
will now require a permit as it does on City
streets. There will continue to be no permit or
fees required for morning, afternoon, and evening

The lots affected are: South Baldwin Public
Parking Lot, Mariposa Public Parking Lot, Auburn
Public Parking Lot, East Montecito Public
Parking Lot.

In addition to security considerations, the new
regulations are expected to increase the equitability
of parking availability and increase the
parking options for those who intend to shop
in Sierra Madre’s commercial district.

A permit is required to park on a public parking lot between the hours of 3:00am
and 5:00am. There is a 72-hour maximum as well as a two-ton maximum on each
vehicle. Permits may be acquired from the City’s website at www.cityofsierramadre.
com and selecting the “Parking” icon on the left menu.

Rotary's Rise Against Hunger is an international
hunger relief organization that distributes food and
life-changing aid to the world’s most vulnerable,
mobilizing the necessary resources to end hunger by
2030. The organization is driven by the vision of a
world without hunger. Its mission is to end hunger in
our lifetime by providing food and life-changing aid
to the world’s most vulnerable and creating a global
commitment to mobilize the necessary resources.

Rotary clubs of Sierra Madre and Arcadia sponsors
are inviting Interactors, Key club, school volunteers
and anyone from the community to sign up and
come assemble meals. This is really families supporting families. Last year there
were 70 volunteers who had a great time measuring 20,000 packages.

Both your service and monetary contribution is welcome.

On Saturday, October 19 at Arcadia High School cafeteria at 180 Campus Drive,
