YWCA PASADENA HOSTS EVENT ON THE FUTURE
OF BLOCKCHAIN
On Tuesday, December 8th, 2020, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, the YWCA Pasadena-Foothill
Valley will be presenting "How Blockchain is changing the world as we know it". This free live
streamed event, hosted by YWCA Pasadena Foothill-Valley’s Board President Angeline Chen,
will feature a panel of experts including Octavio Herrera, COO of Lucid Sight; Leslie Katz,
Member of Clark Hill PLC; Jor Law, Blockchain Consultant; and Gary Leland, founder of the
BitBlockBoom Bitcoin Conference.
Angeline Chen will serve as the moderator and the panelists will dive into topics such as
whether bitcoin will be more valuable than gold, what role videogames play on mass adoption
of cryptocurrencies, which industries might be disrupted by blockchain, and what regulations
affect Cryptocurrency.
Octavio Herrera is a technology entrepreneur with a successful track record of starting and
selling companies. He is a co-founder of Lucid Sight, Inc., a Los Angeles based soft-ware company
that develops blockchain games and game technology; a seed investor and Board Member
at App Onboard, Inc.; an early investor in Bird; and a cofounder of Jirbo, Inc one of the first
iPhone gaming companies.
Leslie R. Katz is a Member in Clark Hill's Government & Regulatory Affairs practice. She focuses
on government law and policy and regularly interacts with state agencies. Leslie helps optimize
the political, legal, community, and business contexts in which her clients operate. Her
ability to provide strategic counsel—for startups to Fortune 500 companies and public entities—
comes from her diverse experiences in the public and private sectors. Leslie has served as
the regional vice president of regulatory affairs for a Fortune 250 energy-services company and
held executive roles with technology companies. She was involved in the Pacific Carbon Exchange's
inception and held the role of executive vice president of policy. She regularly speaks
on blockchain, regulatory matters, public policy topics, and on infrastructure, economic development,
community relations, leadership de-velopment, and technology-related issues.
Jor Law is a pioneer in building out the ecosystem for digitizing and trading securities on the
blockchain and other distributed ledger technologies. A finance and securities attor-ney, he is
most well-known for his expertise in secured lending and alternative finance, including EB-5,

accredited investor verification ser-vice in the world at the time it was acquired. A trusted
consultant/adviser to technology companies primarily in regtech, fintech, and crypto, Jor has
advised prominent companies such as tZERO, Polymath, and Prime Trust. Within the crypto
space, he’s most passionate about securities regulations affecting tokens, identity for regulatory
purposes vs privacy and anonymity, and cross-ledger or cross-chain technologies.
Gary Leland is a businessman, entrepreneur, and media personality. He produces several shows
in the cryptocurrency sphere including the Crypto Cousins Podcast, the 4 Minute Crypto
Show, The What Is Bitcoin Podcast, the Railroaded Podcast and the BitBlockBoom Podcast.

to buy and invest bitcoin. In March of 2020 Gary accepted the role of Executive Vice President
of podcasting for Biz Talk Radio.

Glendale and YWCA Pasadena’s TechGYRLS® program seeks to empower young girls in the

STEAM activities. During COVID-19, our TechGYRLS® programs will be of-fered virtually
through YWCA organized or partner organized events. Find out more in-formation about the
program at https://www.glendaleywca.org/techgyrls/.
