MEET SIERRA MADRE'S NEW CITY 
MANAGER: JOSE REYNOSO 
The city of Sierra 
Madre has selected 
Interim City Manager 
Jose Reynoso to fill 
the position full time. 
In the official press 
release, the city says,
"After an extensive 
recruitment process 
to find the next CityManager for Sierra 
Madre, the City Coun-
cil has appointed Jose 
Reynoso to serve as 
the next City Manag-
er." Reynoso served as 
Interim City Manager 
following the depar-
ture of Gabe Engeland 
in July. 
Mayor Arizmendi 
said, “The City Coun-
cil is pleased to ap-
point Jose Reynoso to 
serve as City Manager. 
Despite the pandemic, Sierra Madre has made great strides over the 
past 5 years. Jose Reynoso has demonstrated his commitment to the 
City in his previous position as the Director of Utilities and most re-
cently as Interim City Manager. We are confident in his ability to build 
on our momentum and lead our City forward with a strong team sup-
porting him along the way.” 
Mr. Reynoso has served 25 years in public service with various cities,
including the cities of El Monte, Alhambra, Monterey Park, and Sierra 
Madre. Mr. Reynoso joined Sierra Madre in 2010 and has held the 
roles of Water Superintendent, Deputy Public Works Director, Direc-
tor of Utilities, and Interim City Manager in his years with the City. 
"It is an honor and a privilege to serve as the City Manager of Sierra 
Madre,” said Reynoso. “Over the past 11 years I have been embraced 
by this community. I love Sierra Madre and the traditions that make it 
a special place to live, work, and visit. I remain committed to working 
with City staff to support the City Council and to continue the mo-
mentum for fiscal stability, investing in improvements to the City’s ag-
ing infrastructure, and addressing the needs of our Library and Public 
Safety.” 
Mr. Reynoso holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from the Univer-
sity of La Verne and is pursuing his Master’s Degree in Management 
from the University of Illinois. He currently serves on the Board of 
Directors for the Raymond Basin Management Board, as well as being 
the City’s Liaison Representative on the San Gabriel Valley Munici-
pal Water District. Mr. Reynoso has been married to his high-school 
sweetheart Lourdes for 28 years. They have three adult children.

passed away on Thursday. 
Mr. Taylor was best known as 
the proprietor of Taylor’s Ol’ 
Fashioned Market in Sierra 
Madre for the past 54+ years. 
In 2020 he was honored 
as the Business of the Year 
award not only for the Mar-
ket but also for his generos-
ity in supporting community 
organizations through the 
years. 
There will be a celebration 
of Life service at the Lake 
Avenue Church on Saturday,
December 4th at 10:30 am.

bers of participants in the annual Costume Parade, the Hal-
loweeners were the largest in recent history.
The city's halloween landmark, East Alegria, despite not en-
tertaining trick or treators at the door, did once again display 
elaborate decorated homes and carved pumpkins.

most popular spot with carved pumpkins that, with the help of
