COUNCIL MEETING

THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS! 
As part of the City of Sierra Madre’s 
COVID-19 transparency efforts and The 
Brown Act provides the public with an oppor-
tunity to make public comments at any public 
meeting. Public comment may also be made 
by e-mail to PublicComment@CityofSier-
raMadre.com by 3:00 p.m. on the day of the 
meeting. 
Emails will be acknowl-edged at the Coun-
cil meeting and filed into public record. The 
public may also comment in person at the 
meeting. 
The meetings will be streamed live on Foot-
hills Media website at foothillsmedia.org/sier-
ramadre and broadcast on Government Ac-
cess Channel 3 (Spectrum).. 
1630 AM EMERGENCY RADIO & 
Free on-air publicity for local events 
Sierra Madre’s EMERGENCY radio station is now accepting scripts for 
Public Service Announcements (PSAs) about community events. PSAs 
will be broadcast on the air at no charge. The station operates 24/7 and can 
be heard at 1630 on the AM dial. 
Any local non-profit or non-commercial organization can have their 
event information broadcast to the public on Sierra Madre CommunityInformation Radio. The station covers the city of Sierra Madre, plus 
surrounding areas of Pasadena, Arcadia, and Monrovia. 
Your event must: 
• Benefit a non-commercial or non-profit entity• Be open to the public 
• Be of general interest to local citizens 
Just write a Public Service Announcement that describes your event and 
e-mail it to radio@cityofsierramadre.com.

WEEKLY ACTIVITY 
REPORT 
May 15 – May 21, 2022

 The following represents a summary 

report of some of the major incidents 

handled by the Sierra Madre Police Department 
during this period. This list is not intended to be 
considered exclusive or all-inclusive. 

Monday, May 16Medical EmergencyOfficers responded to the 500 block of E Highland Ave for 
reports of a male found in his home, not conscious and not 
breathing. Upon arrival, Sierra Madre Fire Department 
Paramedics determined the the male was deceased. The 
male appeared to pass due to natural causes, and no foul 
play is suspected at this time. 

Monday, May 16Stolen Vehicle Arrest 
At approximately 8:00 AM, officers responded to the 100 
block of E Laurel Ave for reports of a stolen vehicle. Upon 
arrival, the reporting party told officers that their white 
Honda Accord was stolen overnight. There was no suspect 
description at the time, and the vehicle was entered into a 
state system as stolen. 

On May 18th 2022, the La Habra Police Department contacted 
the department advising that they had recovered the 
stolen vehicle and had 2 suspects in custody. The suspects 
were interviewed by Detectives and eventually booked at 
the Pasadena Jail. 

Thursday, May 19Drug Violation Arrest 
Officers contacted a male transient camping inside of the 
bathroom stall at Memorial Park. After further investigation, 
it was discovered that the male was in possession of 
drug paraphenilia. The male was cited and released in the 
field. 

Thursday, May 19Battery Arrest 
At approximately 1:30 pm, officers responded to the Sierra 
Madre Public Library (440 W. Sierra Madre Blvd) regarding 
two male subjects in a verbal altercation with each 
other. Upon further investigation, it was determined that 
one of the male subjects struck an elderly male with his 
fist during the verbal altercation. The suspect was placed 
under arrest and transported to Pasadena Jail for booking. 

Friday, May 20Stolen Vehicle 
At approximately 1:30 PM, officers responded to the 100 
block of E Montecito Ave for reports of a stolen vehicle. 
The reporting party stated that their neighbor’s vehicle described 
as a 1955 Chevy 2 door Classic Vehicle was stolen 
from the parking lot of their building. It was determined 
that no other parties had permission to drive the vehicle. 
The Detectives Bureau is currently investigating the incident.
