An unexpected purchase of a wonderful Altadena fixer with additional lots, then the sale of our rental home. Jan was great working with us on the purchase, open to our ideas to get the purchase closed quickly for all parties. And we couldn’t have been happier with our sale, which closed in just 12 days after less than a week on the market! She also was extremely helpful with staging, and recommendations for minor repairs. We would definitely work with Jan again. Alicia Barclay“CLIENT TESTIMONIAL HAPPYWHEN YOU’RE READY TOKETCHUPON THE REAL ESTATE MARKET. GIVE US A CALL! CSC, an organization which currently provides ten weekly support groups and one monthly support group facilitated by professional mental health therapists, and over 125 monthly education workshops led by experts in their field along with stress management classes plans to move to Sierra Madre in April, 2023. CSC recently purchased the 7,000 square foot plus facility at 331 W Sierra Madre Blvd. CSC resided in Pasadena for 30 years. Patricia Ostiller, Executive Director of Cancer Support Community said, “Sierra Madre is a beautiful neighborhood for our mission. It’s very friendly, down to earth, and relaxing. We look forward to our participants finding peace, comfort, relaxation, and support in Sierra Madre - and we look forward to getting to know our neighbors.” She also noted, “Our donors are excited about this news, too. We look forward to joining hands with our entire community to help us ensure a successful move. A variety of permanent naming opportunities for our new building are available at bethekey.cscpasadena.org. This larger building will allow Cancer Support Community to offer new programs at our partici-pant's request. An outdoor oasis will provide solace with a water feature and peaceful landscaping. It’ll provide for a beautiful outdoor space.” The Cancer Support Community organization was established in 1982, Harold and Harriet Benjamin transformed the way our culture faces cancer. Har-riet, a cancer survivor herself, sought to create an organization that would provide social and emotional support to not only cancer patients, but also to families, friends, and caregivers. The Benjamins strongly encouraged psychosocial care because they believed in a strong correlation between emotional and physical well-being. Thus, the first walk-in community facility of its kind, The Wellness Community (TWC), was founded in Santa Monica, CA as an outlet for those suffering from cancer to receive appropriate support. WHAT DO SIERRA MADREANS DO WHEN IT IS 100 DEGREES OUTSIDE? - Volunteer Of Course! Pictured above left to right: Community Services Manager Rebecca Silva, Commissioners Pat Holland, Anita Thompson, Patricia Krok, Marlene Enmark and Jacquie Pergola. Photo courtesy City of Sierra Madre It is a well known fact that nothing can stop the lifeblood of Sierra Madre - its volunteers - from functioning as it should. That was very apparent on Thursday when the thermometer reading was in excess of 100 degrees and the Senior Community Commissioners would not cancel their regular meeting. The commission's purpose is to "conduct city business" as it relates to activities that benefit Sierra Madre Seniors. Their agenda was full including planning and discussions on past and future activities such as the Senior Art Show, Senior Excursions, the YWCA Intervale Lunch Program and much more. Like the popular motto that used to be associated with the US Postal Service , " “Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night. shall stop the US Mail..", the SMSCC could justifiably adopt, 'neither traveling through extreme heat of day nor glaring sun shall stop us'. The Commission meets on the 4th Thursday of each month. S. Henderson/MVNews MONROVIA $799,000DUPLEX 1 bed 1 bath EachCharming Duplex located close toOld Town Monrovia.
