MONROVIA WINS 2024 ALL-AMERICA CITY AWARD!
The City of Monrovia is so excited to announce that they have been named a 2024 All-America
City winner! Earlier last week, the National Civic League (NCL) recognized 10 cities as All-
America Cities from across the United States who have all created unique programs that met
this year’s theme, “Strengthening Democracy through Local Action and Innovation.”
"While we have so many incredible programs and services across our organization, this year,
the City of Monrovia focused on three programs and partnerships that achieve the goals of
strengthening democracy through local action. They are:
The City’s Monrovia Area Partnership (MAP) Program that initially started to address
violence and neighborhood blight and has gone on to become a tool to help educate community
members, create leaders, and help get voices heard.
The City’s partnership with Community Media of the Foothills for KGEM-TV, which allows
community members without any broadcast experience create, produce and publish content
they are passionate about, as well as digestible City Council and School District Recaps,
Conversations with Candidates, and information on how to vote; and
The City’s newest program and collaboration with the Monrovia Unified School District, our
3rd Grade Field Trip that teaches our youth the importance of voting and democracy!
