The City of Pasadena 
and the Black HistoryPlanning Committee 
members announced the live 
entertainment lineup for theBlack History Festival, takingplace today from 10 a.m. to 3

p.m. at Robinson Park. Thisyear’s theme, “Unifying theCulture & Protecting Our 
Freedom, Passing the Baton 
to the Next Generation,” 
will be reflected through adynamic program of musicalperformances celebrating 
culture, creativity, and 
community. 
Festival attendees can enjoylive performances from local 
artists, including Grammy-
nominated singer Angie 
Fisher (pictured), who first 
captivated audiences with her2014 hit song “I.R.S.” and hasperformed alongside world-
renowned artists such as 
Michael Jackson and Mariah 
Carey, as well as special 
performances by Candace 
Lacy and Tanya DeCuir. 
Additional entertainment 
will include performances byJudah Lacy, Aretha Scruggs,
and Courtney Lindsey(SunWhoa), showcasing a 
variety of musical styles thathonor Pasadena’s vibrant 
cultural landscape.

 As Pasadena continues its 
recovery efforts following the 
Eaton Fire, this year’s festivalaims to provide opportunitiesfor healing and celebrationthrough the power of musicand shared community 
experiences.

drumming with the Shumei 
Arts Council, and venture intothe USC Pacific Asia Museum’s 
immersive exhibition, “MythicalCreatures: The Stories We Carry,” 
inspired by pan-Asian stories.

 Japanese mythological spirts arethe subject of “P2-Yokai, AndyFedak and Bruce Yonemoto’s,” 
animated surrealistic vignettesat ArtCenter’s Mullin Gallery,
which also presents the landmark1987 film “Kappa” with drawingsby artist Mike Kelley. The 
exhibition “A Case for Cursive” 
continues at ArtCenter’s HMCT 
Gallery, while the WilliamsonGallery presents the cultural 
landscape of artist Dave Muller,
featuring a functioning recordstore installation.

Art that Shines,” at Jackie
