Arcadia 91007. There will be karaoke singing and dancing under the 
stars. Tours of the Arcadia Performing Arts Center facility and dessertswill also be available.

About The Arcadia Performing Arts Center and Arcadia PerformingArts Foundation 

The opening of the Arcadia Performing Arts Center, which anchorsthe northwest corner of the campus of Arcadia High School, onOctober 18, 2012, was the realization of a long-standing dream for thecitizens of Arcadia to have a major center for arts and culture in thecommunity. This 40,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility includesa main performance hall with seating for 1,150, a stage that holds 200musicians, tunable acoustics and professional lighting and sound. Inaddition, the center boasts an orchestra room with practice rooms andmusic library, a dance studio with sprung wood floors, a professionalstagecraft workshop and a Black Box theater with separate controlroom and flexible seating that can host 125 guests.
The realization of the Performing Arts Center clearly shows thecommitment of the Arcadia community to the arts. With this realizationcomes the need for another commitment – to the future of the building,
arts education and arts programming. The Arcadia Performing ArtsFoundation is dedicated to maintaining the Performing Arts Centeras a nucleus for the arts, education and engagement where the lives ofstudents and the greater community are enriched.

The Arcadia Performing Arts Foundation has currently set afundraising goal $10 million that will result in an endowment toprovide regular funding for the school district arts programs and thePerforming Arts Center. The Arcadia Performing Arts Center providesa first-class venue for the San Gabriel Valley where the public can enjoymajor concert and performing arts attractions, and where studenttalent can be fostered and supported with a venue for their work.

ARCADIA POLICE BLOTTER 


For the period of Sunday, July 26th, through Saturday, August 1st, the 
Police Department responded to 1,126 calls for service of which 120 
required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of 
the major incidents handled by the Department during this period. 

Sunday, July 26:

Just before 1:11 a.m., an officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle 
in the area of Second Avenue and Alta Street. Upon contacting 
the driver, the officer discovered she had a suspended license, and 
during a consensual search of the vehicle, located a smoking pipe 
and methamphetamine. The 42-year-old female from Monrovia 
was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

At approximately 2:44 p.m., an officer responded to the front 
counter of the Arcadia Police Department regarding a report of 
domestic violence. An investigation revealed the victim’s husband 
punched her in the face during an argument. The victim refused 
medical attention. Officers located the 51-year-old male from 
Arcadia, arrested him, and transported him to the Arcadia City 
Jail for booking. 

Monday, July 27:

At about 11:20 a.m., an officer responded to an injury traffic 
collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian near the intersection of 
Old Ranch Road and Colorado Boulevard. The officer determined 
the pedestrian, Party-2, caused the collision by stepping into the 
roadway in front of Party-1, who had the right of way. Party-2 was 
taken to Arcadia Methodist Hospital for treatment. 

At approximately 7:17 p.m., an officer responded to Teavana at the 
Westfield Shopping Town, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a 
petty theft report. An investigation revealed an unknown Hispanic 
male, approximately 25-years-old, picked up the victim’s wallet 
and used the victim’s credit card to purchase movie tickets. The 
investigation is ongoing. 

Tuesday, July 28:

Around 5:53 a.m., Arcadia PD, Arcadia Fire, and Monrovia Fire 
responded to the Los Angeles County Mental Health Facility, 330 
East Live Oak Avenue, regarding an arson report. The Arcadia Fire 
arson investigator determined the fire was purposely started by an 
unknown suspect. The investigation is ongoing. No injuries were 
reported.

Just after 9:00 p.m., an officer responded to LA Fitness, 1325 
South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a grand theft report. The officer 
determined an unknown suspect stole the victim’s bicycle from the 
front of the location by cutting the cable lock. No suspects were 
seen and no witnesses were located. 

Wednesday, July 29:

Shortly after 7:59 a.m., an officer conducted an enforcement stop 
on a vehicle in the area of Duarte Road and Campus Drive for 
speeding. Upon contacting the driver, the officer discovered the 
42-year-old female from Alhambra was driving with an expired 
license. She was cited and released in the field. 

At about 2:49 p.m., officers responded to Capital Seafood 
Restaurant, 333 East Huntington Drive, regarding two employees 


fighting. Officers discovered the two employees were arguing 
when the fight escaladed, resulting in one of the subjects being 
transported to Arcadia Methodist Hospital for treatment. Officers 
were unable to determine who was at fault. Neither party sought 
prosecution for the battery. 

Thursday, July 30:

At approximately 12:43 a.m., an officer responded to a residence 
in the 600 block of West Duarte Road regarding a burglary report. 
While the victim was away from his residence, an unidentified 
suspect forced open the rear screen door and fled undetected with 
the victim’s clothing. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were 
located. 

Around 8:38 p.m., an officer responded to Macy’s at the Westfield 
Shopping Town, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a petty theftreport. Surveillance footage revealed the 28-year-old female from 
Pasadena concealed numerous items of clothing in a shopping bag 
before exiting the store, failing to make payment. She was arrested 
and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. 

Friday, July 31: 

At about 3:19 p.m., an officer responded to Victoria’s Secret at the 
Westfield Shopping Town, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a 
grand theft report. On July 30th, a store employee witnessed three 
Hispanic females steal over $950.00 worth of fragrance items. The 
investigation is ongoing. 

Just after 10:31 p.m., an officer responded to EO Pharmacy, 31 
South First Avenue, regarding an audible alarm activation. An 
investigation revealed unknown suspect(s) smashed the front 
glass window, activated the alarm, and fled without stealing any 
property. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located. 

Saturday, August 1:

Just after 6:56 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 2400 
block of Louise Avenue regarding a mail theft report. The victim 
witnessed a female suspect steal outgoing mail from his residence. 
The suspect fled in an awaiting blue Honda Civic. 

The suspect is described as a Hispanic female, approximately 5’3” 
tall, nicely dressed, with a thin build. The investigation is ongoing. 

At approximately 1:57 p.m., an officer responded to the 400 
block of West Lemon Avenue regarding a vehicle burglary report. 
An investigation revealed an unknown suspect broke the front 
passenger window, stole the victim’s purse from the front seat, 
and fled undetected. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were 
located.
