The seat, currently held by Anthony Portantino, connects the Los Angeles County foothills from Sunland- Tujunga in the City of Los Angeles on the west to the City of Upland in San Bernardino County on the east. The district also includes most of the Angeles National Forest. The Foothill Freeway (I-210) connects these cities for commerce and entertainment. It includes the whole cities and communities of Sunland-Tujunga, Glendale, Pasadena, Altadena, Atwater Village, La Cañada Flintridge, La Crescenta, Montrose, South Pasadena, San Ma- rino, Sierra Madre, Monrovia, Duarte, Glendora, San Dimas, La Verne, Claremont, San Antonio Heights, and Upland plus most of Burbank. Portantino is running for the seat currently held by Congressman Adam Schiff. Schiff was the first to an- nounce that he is running for US Senate to fill the seat being vacated by Dianne Feinstein. Harabedian was first elected to the Sierra Madre City Council in 2012, re-elected in 2016, and twice served as Mayor. He led efforts in Sierra Madre and the region to protect the environment, conserve natural resources, reduce homelessness, and improve municipal services. He spearheaded the groundbreaking solar energy project that now serves Sierra Madre residents, and served as a founding board member of the Clean Power Alliance.
