Sunday August 18, 2013

At 8am, a single car traffic collision occurred at 
Santa Anita Avenue and Grandview Avenue. The 
driver while negotiating a u-turn accidentally hit 
the accelerator causing the vehicle to jump the 
curb and hit a tree at the southwest corner of the 
intersection. The driver was not injured. 

Wednesday August 21, 2013

Overnight, unknown suspects entered two unlocked 
vehicles parked in the 00 block of East 
Alegria Avenue and the 100 block of East Grandview 
Avenue. Both vehicles were parked in residence 
driveways. The suspects removed small 
items of value that were in the center console of 
each vehicle. 

Thursday August 22, 2013

At 2pm, a traffic collision occurred at Grandview 
Avenue near Foothill Avenue. A passenger vehicle 
was attempting to pass a trash truck on the 
left when the truck suddenly pulled away from 
the curb. The force of this collision propelled the 
car forward and into a tree on the south side of 
the street. Both occupants of the passenger car 
complained of back pain and the car sustained 
major damage. 

Friday August 23, 2013

A resident in the 600 block of West Sierra Madre 
Boulevard reported that his bicycle had been taken 
from his carport between 11am and 3pm. The 
bicycle was not secured but access to the carport 
portion of the property is limited by an electronically 
controlled gate. 

At 6:30pm, while conducting a traffic stop, officers 
discovered several hundred pirated DVDs in 
the trunk of the vehicle. The driver admitted that 
he downloads the movies from various sites and 
sells them to individuals for 5-10 dollars apiece. 
He also admitted that he has been doing this for a 
while and offered to sell some of the DVDs to the 
arresting officer. The driver (male 34 years) was 
arrested for Possession of Pirated Movies for Sale.

Sunday August 25, 2013

A resident in the 400 block of East Laurel Avenue 
returned home from a short vacation and discovered 
graffiti had been painted on a lamp post in 
the front yard. The graffiti consisted of words and 
a drawing done with a black marker pen.
