Vandalism

March 9 at 7:34 p.m., an officer responded to a 
residence in the 400 block of Monrovista on the 
report of a vandalism. A second story window of 
an apartment unit was shattered with a metal BB 
or similar type object sometime during the day. 
No one was home when the vandalism occurred.

Petty Theft / Drunk in Public – Suspect Arrested

March 11 at 8:40 a.m., a business in the 200 block 
of East Huntington called police to report a theft 
of liquor. A female suspect ran from the store 
with a stolen bottle of gin. She was quickly located 
by officers and arrested for shoplifting and being 
drunk in public.

March 12 at 2:09 a.m., police received a call 
reporting a male subject in the 200 block of East 
Lemon that was yelling and causing a disturbance. 
Officers arrived and located the subject. He was 
determined to be intoxicated and unable to care 
for himself. He was arrested for being drunk in 
public and held for sobering.

FUN FILLED SPRING ACTIVITIES FOR THE 
COMMUNITY IN THE CITY OF DUARTE


DUARTE, CA, March 11, 2015 – The City of Duarte 
invites community members of all ages to partake in 
fun filled activities during the month of April! 

 Teens, between the ages of 15-18, are invited to 
the Duarte Teen Center on Wednesday, April 1st 
to a free youth employment workshop from 3:30 to 
5:00 p.m. Teens will learn how to write a resume, 
complete a job application, practice interview skills 
and more. Local employers will be on site to share 
employment opportunities. Interested youth must 
RSVP by calling the Duarte Teen Center (626) 
303-0863. 

 Bring the family and say hello to the Easter Bunny! 
On Saturday, April 4th start the day off by enjoying 
a delicious pancake breakfast from 7:30- 9:30 a.m. 
at the Duarte Community Center, 1600 Huntington 
Drive. The breakfast is hosted by Duarte Rotary 
Club and the cost for adults is $4, $2 for children 
10 years and older. After breakfast, head over to 
Beardslee and Royal Oaks Parks for a free Easter 
Egg Hunt. Beardslee Park is located at 2000 Buena 
Vista St. and Royal Oaks Park is located at 2627 
Royal Oaks Dr. The hunt starts at 10am sharp and 
is open to children ages 3-4, 5-7 and 8-10 years old. 
At the hunts, children will be able to collect candy 
and special prizes will be given to the lucky ones 
who collect the “Golden Eggs!” Baskets or bags will 
not be allowed and parents will be asked to stay off 
the hunting grounds. For additional information, 
contact the City of Duarte Parks and Recreation

 Teens can join in on the fun at Knott’s Berry 
Farm and at Six Flags Magic Mountain during 
Spring Break too. On Wednesday, April 8 head over 
to Knott’s Berry Farm and on Thursday, April 9 go 
to Six Flags Magic Mountain with the Duarte Teen 
Center! Teens will depart from the Center at 8:30 
a.m. and will return at 7:30 p.m. The cost per person 
is $34 for each excursion and registration is required 
as space is limited. Interested teens can register by 
calling the Duarte Teen Center at (626) 303-0863.
