ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP 
OPPORTUNITIES

Annually, the Sierra Madre Rose Float 
Association is proud to award a scholarship 
to qualified college-bound student who meet the following 
qualifications:

1. Applicants must be currently a student in their senior year of high 
school or be a college freshman with a minimum GPA of 3.0.

2. Applicants must have been active in one or more Sierra Madre Rose 
Float activity such as fundraising, design, construction, flowering or 
as a past or present float rider.

1630 AM EMERGENCY RADIO & 

Free on-air publicity for local events

 Sierra Madre’s EMERGENCY radio station is now accepting scripts for 
Public Service Announcements (PSAs) about community events. PSAs 
will be broadcast on the air at no charge. The station operates 24/7 and 
can be heard at 1630 on the AM dial.

 Any local non-profit or non-commercial organization can have their 
event information broadcast to the public on Sierra Madre Community 
Information Radio. The station covers the city of Sierra Madre, plus 
surrounding areas of Pasadena, Arcadia, and Monrovia. 

Your event must:

• Benefit a non-commercial or non-profit entity
• Be open to the public
• Be of general interest to local citizens


Just 
write a Public Service Announcement that describes your event and 
e-mail it to radio@cityofsierramadre.com.

 Can’t make it to the meeting, but still want to share your 
thoughts? You can mail or drop off a written statement 
to City Hall or email city@cityofsierramadre.com before 
5:30 the night of the meeting and your statement will be 
delivered to all the Council Members.

COMMUNITY YARD 
SALE IN SIERRA MADRE

 
The City of Sierra Madre Senior Community Commission is 
hosting the 6th Annual Community Yard Sale on Saturday, 
June 4, 2016 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in Sierra Vista 
Park (611 E. Sierra Madre Blvd). Community members and 
organizations are invited to clean out their garages, attics, 
storage sheds and closets sell them at this great event.

 The fee for a selling space is $35.00 and a yard sale permit 
does not need to be purchased; proceeds will benefit senior 
programs and activities. If you would like to participate in 
the Community Yard Sale, you must register in person at 
City Hall, located at 232 W. Sierra Madre Blvd., Sierra Madre, 
CA 91024. The deadline to register is Thursday, May 27 or 
until spaces are filled. Spots are filled on a first come, first 
serve basis.

 Participants must provide their own tables, chairs, canopies 
(12’x12’ maximum) and cash boxes if needed. No electricity 
will be provided. Live animals, large canopies, and selling 
of food or drinks are prohibited. All business must be 
conducted within your space. Event may be cancelled due to 
inclement weather. 

 A limited number of spaces are available. For more
