The City of Sierra Madre gives notice, pursuant to State of California law, that the City Council will conduct a public
hearing to consider adoption of Ordinance 1395 amending Title 15 - Building and Construction, adding Chapter 15.62
establishing procedures for an expedited permitting process for an “Electric Vehicle Charging Station.” The purpose of the
amendment is to comply with AB 1236 which requires local jurisdictions with a population less than 200,000 residents to
adopt an ordinance to create an expedited, streamline permitting process for electric vehicle charging stations. An electric
vehicle charging station is any level of electric vehicle supply equipment station which delivers electricity from a source
outside an electric vehicle into a plug-in electric vehicle. The City Council will also consider Resolution 18-03 adopting a
plan check fee for expedited permitting of an Electric Vehicle Charging Station.
