Sierra Madre’s EMERGENCY radio station is now accepting scripts 
for Public Service Announcements (PSAs) about community events. 
PSAs will be broadcast on the air at no charge. The station operates 
24/7 and can be heard at 1630 on the AM dial. 
Any local non-profit or non-commercial organization can have their 
event information broadcast to the public on Sierra Madre Community 
Information Radio. The station covers the city of Sierra Madre, plus 
surrounding areas of Pasadena, Arcadia, and Monrovia. 
Your event must: 
• Benefit a non-commercial or non-profit entity 
• Be open to the public 
• Be of general interest to local citizens 
Just 
write a Public Service Announcement that describes your event

CHRISTMAS TREE RECYCLING AND 
HOLIDAY TRASH SCHEDULE 
Athens Services will once again collect Christmas Trees after the 
holidays for recycling. Trees will be collected on your normal pickup 
day beginning on January 2, 2018 and until January 12, 2018. 
Please remove stands, ornaments, lights and tinsel. Place trees next 
to your regular trash containers. Trees over 6 feet in length must be 
cut in half. Trees with flocking or fire retardants are acceptable. If 
you miss the regular tree collection period, please make arrangements 
to have Athens collect your tree as part of their bulky item pickup 
program by calling 888-336-6100. 
Residents should also be aware that holiday collection days this year 
will delayed by the usual single day after Christmas Day and New 
Year’s Day.

During this time period, the Sierra Madre Police Department 
responded to approximately 259 day and night time calls for service. 
Monday, December 18 
Sometime between 12/14 and 12/18/17, a theft of personal items 
from an unlocked vehicle was reported to have occurred in the 400 
block of N. Baldwin Ave. Value of loss not known at this time. Case 
referred to Detectives 
Tuesday, December 19 
At about 6:03 p.m. a traffic collision involving a vehicle and a 
pedestrian occurred in the 300 block of E. Sierra Madre Blvd. The 
pedestrian was treated by the Sierra Madre FD Paramedics at the 
scene and later transported to a local hospital for further treatment. 
11:23 p.m. A resident in the 100 block of Mountain Trail reported a 
package was taken from his front porch. Video surveillance shows 
an unknown subject walking away from the residence with the 
package that was on the victim’s porch. Case to Detectives 
Wednesday, December 20 
A residential burglary occurred between 9:00 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. The 
unknown suspect(s) entered the residence through the rear sliding 
glass door that was left unsecured and ransacked several rooms. The 
total loss is not known at this time. Case to Detectives 
Saturday, December 23 
Theft of a purse and its contents from an unlocked vehicle was 
reported to have occurred in the 300 block of N. Baldwin Ave. 
between 6:45 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. Case to Detectives

Applicant: City of Sierra Madre 
Project Location: Properties in the City of Sierra Madre, County of Los Angeles, State of California 
The City of Sierra Madre gives notice, pursuant to State of California law, that the City Council will conduct a public 
hearing to consider adoption of Ordinance 1395 amending Title 15 - Building and Construction, adding Chapter 15.62 
establishing procedures for an expedited permitting process for an “Electric Vehicle Charging Station.” The purpose of the 
amendment is to comply with AB 1236 which requires local jurisdictions with a population less than 200,000 residents to 
adopt an ordinance to create an expedited, streamline permitting process for electric vehicle charging stations. An electric 
vehicle charging station is any level of electric vehicle supply equipment station which delivers electricity from a source 
outside an electric vehicle into a plug-in electric vehicle. The City Council will also consider Resolution 18-03 adopting a 
plan check fee for expedited permitting of an Electric Vehicle Charging Station.

environment. This Ordinance is therefore exempt from California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) review pursuant to 
Title 14, Section 15061(b)(3) of the California Code of Regulations. City Council further finds that in accordance with CEQA 
Guidelines section 15268, 15308, and 15378, the adoption of this amendment to the Municipal Code is exempt from CEQA 
provisions because such actions are administrative in nature.

the issues that were raised or presented in written correspondence delivered to the City Council at, or before, the scheduled

HOLIDAY PARKING 
ENFORCEMENT SCHEDULE 
Please be advised that starting at 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, 
December 16, 2017 there will be a City-wide exemption 
for parking violations relating to Permit Parking and 
Overnight Parking. This exemption will extend until 
2:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2018, in observance 
of the holiday season. Please note that safety violations 
related to parking will be enforced 24/7. 
There will be Officers on staff, 24/7 to handle enforcement 
parking issues and safety violations during these 
times.
