Free on-air publicity for local events 
Sierra Madre’s EMERGENCY radio station is now accepting scripts 
for Public Service Announcements (PSAs) about community events. 
PSAs will be broadcast on the air at no charge. The station operates 
24/7 and can be heard at 1630 on the AM dial. 
Any local non-profit or non-commercial organization can have their 
event information broadcast to the public on Sierra Madre Community 
Information Radio. The station covers the city of Sierra Madre, plus 
surrounding areas of Pasadena, Arcadia, and Monrovia. 
Your event must: 
• Benefit a non-commercial or non-profit entity 
• Be open to the public 
• Be of general interest to local citizens 
Just write a Public Service Announcement that describes your event 
and e-mail it to radio@cityofsierramadre.com.

DESIGN A SUMMER THEMED 
BOOKMARK 

Local students are invited to enter the popular Bookmark Contest inMarch. This year’s theme is: Sierra Madre Summer Fun: Draw and writeabout spending summer in Sierra Madre.

Artwork may be written, drawn or designed with any tools but must becompletely original work - graphic designs are acceptable but must be cutand pasted onto the original application.

Applicants must be in kindergarten through 8th grade (includingtransitional kindergarten.)

Pick up your application at the Sierra Madre Public Library, on theLibrary website, and at schools in Sierra Madre starting March 1, 2018.
Entries are due by March 31, 2018 at the Library.

SIERRA MADRE POLICE BLOTTER 

 February 18 to February 25 , 2018 During this period, the Sierra Madre 
Police Department responded to approximately 319 day and night time 
calls for service. 

Monday, February 19 

Officers responded to a call at about 2:22 p.m. from an observant 
resident regarding a male sleeping behind the wheel of his vehicle with 
the motor running in the 200 block of Churchill Rd. The vehicle was 
parked in a No Parking Zone, in close proximity to a Neighborhood 
Watch sign. Upon further investigation it was determined that the driver 
was driving under the influence of a controlled substance (marijuana). 
The driver stated that he had around 300 grams of marijuana in the 
vehicle. The driver was arrested and transported to the Pasadena Jail. 
The driver's vehicle was towed to the station for inventory and later 
stored at Foothill Tow. SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING 

Wednesday, February 21 

At about 4:10 p.m., the victim parked and secured her vehicle in the 
Bailey Canyon parking lot. When she returned at about 5:30 p.m. 
she noticed the front passenger window was smashed by unknown 
person(s) and property was missing. At this time the value of the 
property is undetermined. 

Saturday, February 24 

At about 11:30 a.m. officers were dispatched to the 300 block of San 
Gabriel CT regarding vandalism. Following an investigation, it was 
determined that the suspect(s) entered the residence without permission 
and vandalized some of the victim’s property. Case to Detectives
