For the period of Sunday, August 22, through Saturday, August 28, 
the Police Department responded to 1,235 calls for service, of which 
129 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report 
of some of the major incidents handled by the Department during this 
period. 

Sunday, August 22:

1. At 1:58 p.m., officers responded to a residential complex in 
the 400 block of West Duarte Road regarding the report of smoke 
seen coming from the location. An Arcadia Fire Department Arson 
Investigator responded and determined the fire appeared to have 
been started by a candle or incense left burning. The damage was 
minimal, and no one was injured. 
2. At 8:41 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of HollyAvenue and Huntington Drive regarding a hit and run traffic collision 
that had just occurred. An officer located the suspect vehicle 
occupied by the female suspect and her children. Upon contacting 
the driver, he detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from her. 
Through a series of tests, the officer determined the 36-year-old female 
from Arcadia was driving under the influence of an alcoholic 
beverage. She was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail 
for booking.
3. At 11:32 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 1600 
block of South Baldwin Avenue regarding the report of a subject 
violating a restraining order. The subject arrived at the location 
drunk and began ringing the doorbell. He then smashed a window. 
The 38-year-old male from Arcadia was arrested and transported to 
the Arcadia City Jail for booking. 
Monday, August 23:

4. At 3:30 a.m., officers responded to Arcadia Methodist Hospital, 
300 West Huntington Drive, regarding the report of a male 
and female fighting in the parking lot. An investigation revealed the 
male subject battered the female and took her phone while she was 
calling the police for help. The 28-year-old male from Corona was 
arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
5. At 4:26 a.m., officers responded to the Office of Walter M. 
Fierson MD, 1245 West Huntington Drive, regarding a burglary 
alarm. An investigation revealed an unknown suspect(s) smashed a 
window, ransacked the office, and fled undetected with an unspecified 
amount of eyewear. The investigation is ongoing. 
Tuesday, August 24:

6. At 5:23 a.m., officers responded to the intersection of Santa 
Anita Avenue and Foothill Boulevard regarding a hit and run traffic 
collision. Officers located the suspect vehicle and contacted the 
driver. An investigation revealed the vehicle was reported as stolen. 
The 27-year-old female from Riverside was arrested and transported 
to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
7. At 9:48 a.m., officers responded to The Original Pepper’s 
Mexican Grill and Cantina, 181 Colorado Place, regarding a transient 
sleeping inside the location. Officers located pry marks on the 
front door and the subject asleep in a booth. The 52-year-old male 
from South El Monte was arrested and transported to the Arcadia 
City Jail for booking. 
Wednesday, August 25:

8. At 9:28 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the 1700 block of 
South Second Avenue regarding a suspicious vehicle with several 
occupants parked in the area for several hours. The officer contacted 
the female driver and three male subjects, and an investigation 
revealed the driver and one of the male subjects were in possession 
of a meth pipes. The 31-year-old female from San Diego and the 
34-year-old male from Duarte were issued citations and released. 
Thursday, August 26:

9. At 7:46 a.m., officers responded to The Arcadia Methodist 
Hospital, 300 West Huntington Drive, regarding a female transient 
refusing to leave. The subject bit and pepper sprayed an employee. 
An investigation revealed she had an outstanding warrant for 
her arrest. The 23-year-old female from La Verne was arrested and 
transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. 
Friday, August 27:

10. At 1:18 p.m., an officer was flagged down near the intersection 
of First Avenue and East Huntington Drive. A bicyclist notified 
the officer that a male subject was brandishing a knife. The officer 
witnessed a known male transient yelling at another bicyclist while 
holding an object in his hand, before walking in lanes of traffic. The 
subject threw the object down when he saw the officer. An investigation 
revealed, the object was a prison-style shank two inches in 
length. The 40-year-old male from Arcadia was arrested and transported 
to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. 
11. At 6:55 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 700 
block of Country Oak Lane regarding a male transient trespassing 
and swimming in the pool. A records check revealed the subject 
had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The 40-year-old male 
from Ontario was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail 
for booking.
12. At 8:01 p.m., officers responded to Tokyo Wako, 401 East 
Huntington Drive, regarding a male subject throwing rocks at vehicles 
and harassing customers at the location. Officers located the 
known male transient who had been arrested earlier in the day for 
brandishing a shank. The subject resisted arrest and spat on the officers. 
The 40-year-old male from Arcadia was arrested and transported 
to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. 
Saturday, August 28:

13. At 6:31 a.m., officers responded to a call of a tracker activation 
in the 200 block of Arbolada Drive. To combat recent mail 
thefts, Arcadia Police Department Detectives have placed bait packages 
throughout the city which are equipped with a tracking device. 
Officers tracked the package to an occupied vehicle in the city of 
Pasadena. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and an 
investigation revealed the three occupants were in possession of the 
stolen tracker, several pieces of stolen mail, methamphetamine, and 
a loaded handgun. Two 21-year-old males and an 18-year-old male,
from Duarte, were arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail 
for booking.
14. At 12:56 p.m., officers responded to Savers, 16 East Live 
Oak Avenue, regarding a female transient shoplifting. Upon contacting 
the female, the officer noticed she was making incoherent 
statements, talking to herself, and attempting to harm herself. The 
officer determined that she was a danger to herself and released her 
to a hospital for evaluation.

Grand Theft – Suspects ArrestedAugust 26 at 3:44 a.m., officers responded to the intersection of Lime 
and Canyon regarding subjects seen underneath a vehicle. The subjects 
fled when the reporting party walked up to the vehicle. They were 
seen driving away in a truck. A responding officer located the truck 
and conducted a traffic stop. An investigation was conducted and it was 
determined that the subjects were responsible for steeling the victim’s 
catalytic converter. All three suspects were arrested. 

Hit & Run Traffic Collision 
August 26 at 4:25 p.m., a resident in the 100 block of W. Colorado called 
police to report a hit and run traffic collision. The resident parked his 
vehicle on the street. When he returned to it later, he saw traffic collision 
damage. No note was left. This investigation is continuing. 

Stolen Vehicle Recovered 
August 27 at 4:27 a.m., an officer was patrolling the parking lot of a hotel 
in the 700 block of W. Huntington. An investigation revealed that one 
of the parked vehicles had been reported stolen. It was recovered and 
taken out of the stolen vehicle system. This investigation is continuing. 

Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance – Suspect ArrestedAugust 28 at 3:19 a.m., officers responded to the 100 block of E. Lemon 
regarding a subject pounding on the Fire Department’s door. Upon arrival, 
it was determined the subject was under the influence of a controlled 
substance. He was arrested and held for a sobering period. 

Vandalism / Mental EvaluationAugust 28 at 2:12 p.m., a resident in the 1400 block of California called 
police to report that a subject just threw a brick through a car window. 
Officers arrived and located the subject. They attempted to detain 
him, but he would not comply. After repeated commands to stop and sit 
down, the subject finally complied. He said he thought several people 
were following him in the vehicle, so he threw a brick through the windshield. 
It was determined he needed to be evaluated by a mental health 
professional. He was transported to a nearby facility for treatment. 

Hit & Run Traffic Collision 
August 29 at 7:37 a.m., a resident in the 300 block of W. Lime reported 
an unknown motorist sideswiped his parked vehicle sometime during 
the night. The suspect vehicle did not stop nor did the driver leave a 
note. This investigation is continuing. 

BatteryAugust 29 at 6:18 p.m., a caller reported two relatives were in a fist fight 
at a residence in the 200 block of N. Canyon. Officers arrived and found 
one subject with minor injuries and the other subject fled the area. This 
investigation is continuing. 

Driving Under the Influence – Suspect ArrestedAugust 29 at 7:53 p.m., a caller reported seeing a possible drunk driver 
near the intersection of California and Maple. Officers responded to the 
area and located the vehicle. The driver was contacted and refused to 
comply with lawful commands. The driver attempted to drive away, but 
was stopped by officers. It was determined he had been driving under 
the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and held for a sobering period. 

RobberyAugust 30 at 3:59 a.m., a female subject called police to report she had 
just been robbed of her purse and punched in the face in the 1700 
block of S. Myrtle. The victim gave officers a description of the vehicle, 
which was later located unoccupied. The victim only knows the suspect 
by his first name and wasn't sure where he lived. This investigation is 
continuing. 

Hit & Run Traffic Collision 
August 30 at 5:22 p.m., a driver reported another motorist just collided 
into her vehicle in the 600 block of W. Foothill. Both motorists pulled 
over to the curb and stopped, however, when the driver exited her vehicle, 
the other motorist fled the area. Officers searched for the suspect,
but could not locate him. This investigation is continuing. 

Assault ReportAugust 31 at 1:09 a.m., a male subject called police from the 300 block 
of W. Huntington to report that he was just assaulted by two suspects. 
Officers arrived and saw the victim was bleeding from the head. They 
checked the area, but the suspects had already fled. The victim was transported 
to the hospital for treatment. This investigation is continuing. 

Grand Theft 
August 31 at 9:45 a.m., a resident in the 1000 block of E. Royal Oaks 
discovered a large amount of her jewelry was missing from boxes she 
had a moving company transport for her to her new home. This investigation 
is continuing. 

Vandalism 
September 1 at 9:28 a.m., a caller reported new graffiti on the sidewalk 
in the 1800 block of S. Alta Vista. The graffiti was written in black spray 
paint on the sidewalk. It is unknown who vandalized the sidewalk. 
Athens graffiti removal was notified 
for cleanup. 

Residential BurglarySeptember 1 at 3:21 p.m., alandlord of a property in the 
200 block of W. Lemon reported 
that a vehicle backed into 
the carport area and two male 
suspects broke into a storage 
unit. The owner of the storage 
unit is out of town, so the loss 
is unknown at this time. The 
landlord provided surveillance 
footage of the incident. This investigation 
is continuing. 

The following is a synopsis of crimes reported for the week of 
August 22, 2021– August 28, 2021. 

August 22, 2021Petty theft: 1600 Mountain Avenue (Walmart). Victim lost 
her wallet inside the location and asked to see 
video. Deputies arrived and checked video surveillance and 
observed a male Hispanic adult employee taking moneyfrom the found wallet. Surveillance available. Suspect cited/ 
released. 

August 23, 2021Burglary (Vehicle): 1900 block of Chesson Street. Suspect(s) 
unknown entered the victim’s vehicle and stole her 
employee work Identification. No Video surveillance. No 
signs of forced entry. 

Burglary (Vehicle): 1060 Huntington Drive (Denny’s).
Suspect(s) unknown entered the victim’s vehicle and stole 
miscellaneous items from the center console. Vehicles front 
door pried open. Loss was approximately $300 and approximately 
$200 in damages. No Video surveillance. 

August 24, 2021Burglary (Vehicle): 1800 block of Earlington Avenue. 
Suspect(s) unknown entered the victim’s vehicle and stole 
miscellaneous items from the center console and glove box. 
Vehicles front door pried open. Loss was approximately $100 
and $750 in damages. No Video surveillance. 

August 25, 2021Burglary (Vehicle): 1325 Huntington Drive (Big Lots).
Suspect(s) unknown shattered the victim’s vehicle window 
and ransacked the center console, nothing appeared to 
be missing. Approximately $250 in damages. No Video 
surveillance. 

August 26, 2021.
Grand theft auto: 1091 Hamilton Road (Soyfoods of America). 
Victim left his vehicle a 2000 Chevy C2500 unattended 
with keys in the ignition and engine running while he quickly 
went inside business. Upon returning, vehicle was gone. 
Surveillance video shows two male Hispanic adults arrive in 
a possible silver four door KIA. A male Hispanic suspect exits 
from the rear and enters the victims vehicle and drives it away 
west on Hamilton Road and out of view. Vehicle recovered byCHP-Altadena. 

Grand theft auto: 
2200 block of Royal Oaks Drive. The victim’s 2003 Chevy Silverado 
was stolen from the location. Surveillance video shows 
three occupants arrive in an older model blue SUV. A male 
Hispanic suspect exits from the rear and enters the victims 
vehicle and drives it away south on Mount Olive Drive and 
out of view. Vehicle outstanding. 

August 28, 2021Burglary (Commercial): 1167 Huntington Drive (Magic 
Wok). A male black adult suspect wearing a red hooded 
sweatshirt was observed on surveillance entering the closed 
business. The suspect pushed the register to the ground and 
looked through the contents. No loss due to register being 
empty, approximately $700 in damages to the locations front 
shattered glass door. Surveillance available.
