SIERRA MADRE WOMEN'S CLUB AWARDS ANNUAL
SCHOLARSHIPS
Last month, the Sierra Madre Women's Club awarded nine outstanding students scholarships of
$1,000 each.
The Club began the Scholarship Program about 10 years ago and to date has awarded approximately
$50,000 in scholarship funds to college-bound seniors that have shown a high-level of scholastic
achievement. We are proud to be able to continue to financially support the higher education of children
within and around our community. Economic progress and individual prosperity begins with
education and we are happy to serve and do what we can.
The 2022 Recipients are:

Kristina Agojian is a graduate of Armenian Mesrobian High School. She has been active in raising
fund through the Teen World Changers campaign to help families overseas access clean water. Her
college choice is undetermined.
Eric Taylor is team captain of the Temple City High Shool baseball team. He is attending University
of La Verne, and will be furthering his baseball career and majoring in sports management.
Lindsay Freiberger is a lifelong resident of Sierra Madre and graduate of Pasadena High School. She
is focused on pursuing a major in journalism from the University of Wisconsin.
Benjamin Karish has been active in math and science activities at Marshall Fundamental High
School. He enjoys playing Ultimate Frisbee. Ben will be attending University of California Berkeley
in the fall.
Maheilia Thomas is a graduate of California School of the Arts – San Gabriel Valley. After studying
Mandarin for the past seven years, she will attend UC Santa Barbara majoring in Political Science.
She will also continue her Mandarin studies with hopes to participate in their exchange program in
Shanghai.
Richelle Studer is a graduate of Alverno Heights Academy and has been active in theatre, choir and
church leadership. She has been accepted to six colleges. She will pursue major in medicine
Zoe Williams is a graduate of Pasadena High School, and will be pursuing a Nursing major at the
University of Washington.

The Pasadena Unified School District is now enrolling for Transitional Kindergarten
at 11 locations! Transitional Kindergarten (TK) bridges the learning
gap between preschool and traditional Kindergarten and gives young students
