SATURDAY, OCTOBER 4, 2025 VOLUME 19 NO.41VOLUME 19 NO.41 SIERRA MADRE ART WALK RETURNS OCTOBER 10 WITH EXPANDED VENUES AND SUPPORT FOR FIRE-AFFECTED ARTISTS “For this community, art isn't luxury—it's survival, connection, and the promise that beauty can rise from ashes.” -Mario Rodriguez, Artist "At the last event, we saw people smiling with hope again after such a difficult time the first half of this year. It created a sense of joy and belonging that our community really needed." -Shelby Knight, Dave Knight Realty The Sierra Madre Art Walk returns on October 10, 2025, expanding beyond its successful June event that featured 50 artists across 34 galleries, studios, and businesses. The upcoming event will include several new venues throughout the community and provide special opportunities for artists affected by the Eaton Fires and other recent catastrophic events. Building on Sierra Madre's reputation as a thriving arts hub, the Art Walk will showcase diverse local talent including painters, photographers, ceramicists, watercolorists, woodworkers, illustrators and mixed media artists. Live music ranging from trombones to ukuleles, covers to original works will be heard throughout the evening as well. The goal of the Art Walk is to transform local businesses into temporary galleries showcasing familiar local talent as well as new and never before seen artists from Sierra Madre and the surrounding areas. Participating venues include Keller Williams Realty, Savor the Flavor, Collective Co-Op, Fables & Fancies, RT Rogers Brewery and Attitude. Three anchor galleries—Creative Arts Group, Baldwin Avenue Gallery (BAG), and Language Mobilization Factory (LMF) Gallery and Darkroom—will also participate. The ArtWalk has also paired with a few local restaurants who will be offering special drinks and celebratory deals. Maps with detailed information will be available on the Art Walk’s website, instagram and at all participating businesses starting the week of the event. "We need art and we will always need art, especially in this day and age when the world can be a little hectic so to be able to escape through somebody's creations, I will always provide a platform if I'm in the position to do so." -Corinne Fry-Rich, owner of Chantry 1975 ST. RITA'S ANNUAL HARVEST FESTIVAL THIS YEAR MITIGATES DAMAGE TO AREAS CAUSED BY THE JANUARY WILDFIRES St. Rita’s Harvest Festival was a tremendous success, bringing together the entire community for a weekend filled with fun, food, and fellowship. Families enjoyed live music, games, raffles, and delicious homemade treats, all while supporting a great cause. Volunteers worked tirelessly to make the event run smoothly, and the turnout exceeded expectations. Brandi Manning and Ashley Reed created a vibrant family friendly atmosphere reflected the strong spirit and unity of the St. Rita’s parish. The General Store lead by Mrs. Lindsay Weideman was huge hit, there was something special for everyone. The funds raised will directly benefit the newly approved sports courts and play area that was damaged in the January fires. Thanks to all who participated and helped make the festival unforgettable!
