NIGHT BASKETBALL LEAGUE!
The City of Arcadia Recreation and Community Services
Department is offering an Adult Basketball Friday Night League
in fall 2015. Get in shape and sharpen your skills at the same time!
Teams will be placed in an open division and play 10 games in the
Dana Gym, located at 1401 S. First Avenue, Arcadia. The fee for
adult basketball is $475.00 per team (due upon registration), and
includes officials, scorekeepers and awards. A separate $40 forfeit
fee is also due at the time of registration. Space is limited. Teams
will be accepted into the league on a first-come, first-serve basis.

ARCADIA, Calif. (Sept. 3, 2015)—Santa Anita’s stable area, which
has been closed for renovations since mid-July, will reopen on Friday,
Sept. 4, with the training track and main track available to horsemen
beginning Saturday and Sunday in advance of the track’s 2015
Autumn Meet, which opens on Sept. 26. Additionally, Santa Anita’s
popular coffee and breakfast destination, Clockers’ Corner, will be
open for business on a seven day-a-week basis beginning Friday
morning from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m.
The 19-day Autumn Meet will open with a bang as a total of five
Grade I Breeders’ Cup Challenge, “Win and You’re In” prep stakes
will be carded on opening day, with first post time for an 11-race
program scheduled for 12:30 p.m. (First post time for the remainder
of the Autumn Meet will be at 1 p.m.) Santa Anita will offer a total
of six Grade I Breeders’ Cup Challenge races and a total of 21 overall
added money events—12 of which are graded, throughout the meet.
Santa Anita’s stable area, which is home to some 2,000 Thoroughbreds
when occupied, has undergone routine repairs and scheduled
maintenance. Returning horsemen will see fresh paint, repaired
stalls, and improved drainage and access throughout the roughly 40
acres that comprise the stable area.
