This Summer, Sierra Madre “IS” the Magic Kingdom

Summer vacation is upon us! And
as you plan your families summer
activities may we remind you of the
magic taking place right here in our
“back yard?”

 June Chandler’s Fairy Tale Theatre
offers up a summer filled with special
magical excursions for you and your
young ones. Excursions that require
no long road trips. Four interactive
45-minute Children’s shows will
alternate Saturdays now through
September 25th at the Sierra Madre
Playhouse.

 Young audience members will
interact with the characters, wear
costumes and meet all the costumed
characters for autographs after each
show. And some brave kids will be
invited on stage to play roles in scenes.
There will be two performances each
Saturday at 11:00 am and 2:00 pm.

Sleeping Beauty will be performed on
July 10, August 21, and September 4.

Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz takes
the stage on July 17, August 28, and
September 25.

The Frog Prince hops on stage and
into our hearts on July 24, and
September 11.

Treasure Island sails on stage July 31,
and September 18.

Come build lasting memories as your children share in a summer filled with the magical gift of Fairy Tale Theatre!

Tickets are $18 for adults, and $12 for children under 12. Online ticketing at www.sierramadreplayhouse.org. Reservations call (626)

Church Teens Get
into ‘ACTS’ to Prepare
New Thrift Store

Business to Benefit Youth,
Families and Homeless

To get All-Out Caring (ACTS)
Thrift Store (www.actsthrift.
org) ready for its upcoming
opening, 50 high school
student volunteers from Lake
Avenue Church will gather at
the store from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
July 1 to help ready the facility
for business.

The teens will assist in
organizing merchandise,
landscaping store property
and other tasks to prepare the
shop.

ACTS Thrift Store, which is
located at 1382 Locust St.,
will help fund ministry by
the Lake Avenue Community Foundation (www.lakeavefoundation.org), in
Pasadena. The foundation ministers to Pasadena’s growing population of at-risk
youth, disadvantaged families and the homeless.

The store will open with a ribbon cutting at 9:30 a.m. July 17.
