During this time period , the Sierra Madre
Police Department responded to approximately
110 daytime calls for service.

Monday, May 2, 2016 Sierra Madre Police
responded to the lobby of the station regarding
a theft report. Victim stated that on 5/1/16 at
approximately 7:30pm he went to a restaurant
in the 100 block of W. Sierra Madre Bl. to
purchase a sandwich that he paid for in cash.
Upon returning to his residence and checking
his pockets, victim realized that he was missing
approximately $ 60.00 in cash. Victim returned
immediately to the restaurant to speak to the
manager. Surveillance footage showed that
while victim was paying for his food he dropped
the cash by his feet. The money was picked up
by another patron. The other patron returned
to the restaurant on May 3rd and returned the
cash to the restaurant manager who in turn
contacted the victim. Case resolved.

Tuesday, May 3, 2016 At approximately
4:30pm, an officer was dispatched to the
Auburn parking lot regarding a non-injury
traffic collision. The officer found that a
parked vehicle had rolled back into two parked
vehicles. After further investigation, it appears
that the parking brake was engaged, however it
may have malfunctioned causing the vehicle to
roll back colliding with the two vehicles.

Saturday, May 7, 2016 Sierra Madre Police
responded to a call of a suspicious person
that was talking to himself and appeared to be
under the influence of an unknown substance.
The officer contacted the subject who verbally
identified himself as Mardig Papzian. During
the contact, the officer discovered that Papzian
had three outstanding warrants out of the city
of Pasadena and he was in the possession of
marijuana. Papzian was issued a citation for
the marijuana and a Pasadena Police Officer
responded to the location and took custody of
Papzian for the warrants.

NOTE: Nighttime calls for service by LASD
are not included in this report. We are hoping
to include them in the near future.
