Mountain Views-News Saturday, May 14, 2016
I’ve got mine and you might have one too. A
child that is ready to spread their wings in the
free world and graduate college. Did I say the
word “child”? I should say adults ready to pay
their own way, so why not spring for one last
meal? Okay where do we dine? Lucky enough
for us there are many choices in the area. This
list includes high school graduation parties
though let’s remember the legal drinking age in
California is 21.
Robins Woodfire BBQ in East Pasadena has a
private party room that can seat up to fifty guests;
the food is great and will for sure have something
for everyone. Beef Ribs, chicken, Salads and
plenty of housemade desserts. Looking to do
it Hawaiian style? The Canoe House in South
Pasadena has a private room that can
hold up to 40 guests, the menu is fun with
chicken wings, poke, sliders/ burgers and a
fried rice. Wear your Hawaiian shirts have
some fun. Not too far from Pasadena is the
San Antonio Winery, yes they make wine
their but they also have a large dining area
at the Maddalena Restaurant plus smaller
party rooms. Traditional Italian dishes you
won’t go wrong with their Lasagna, Pasta,
fish and deli sandwiches, for the adults in
the crowd you can take a tour of the winery
and taste a bit of the vino. Want to go
upscale? Parkway Grill has a small room that
can hold twenty guests comfortably; Parkway
is often referred to as the Spago of the east
and for good reason, always rated very highly
by many established reviewers. Steaks, fish
and an assortment of California style pizzas.
Mijares Restaurant in Pasadena has been
serving area residents for over 90 years and are
very experienced with large parties, sit down or
buffet style I would estimate they can hold up
to 100 of your family members. Trational tacos,
enchiladas and salads. Lat but not least Panda
INN Chinese cuisine at it’s best , the restaurants
has back rooms that can close for as few as 20
people or open up to as many as 40 people get a
few lazy susans order up and share. Most area
hotels have their own catering departments that
can assist you in your needs
Fair warning: These rooms and halls fill
up quick so call ahead and make a deal!!
Congratulations.

Mix brown sugar, oats, flour, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon in a separate bowl.
Use a pastry cutter or 2 forks to mash cold butter into the oats mixture until the mixture resembles
coarse crumbs; spread over the apples to the edges of the baking dish. Pat the topping gently until even.
Bake in preheated oven until golden brown and sides are bubbling, about 40 minutes.
Optional accompaniments would be caramel sauce, ice cream, and whipped cream.
