SIERRA MADRE POLICE BLOTTER

During the week of Sunday, May 22 to Sunday May 29, the Sierra
Madre Police Department responded to approximately 135 calls for
service.

Wednesday, May 25 Officers were dispatched to a report of an
armed robbery in the 100 block of West Sierra Madre Blvd. at
1:00pm. A suspect wearing a face mask, a wide brimmed white
hat and clothing concealing the suspect’s identity entered the bank
holding a firearm and demanded money. Once the suspect received
the money, the suspect then pepper sprayed several bank employees
and exited the bank through the rear pedestrian entrance. The
suspect then got into a waiting vehicle driven by another suspect
and left the area. SMPD Detectives are working with agents from
the FBI on this case.

Thursday, May 26 An officer responded to the 1000 block of East
Grandview regarding theft of personal items from vehicle report. The
victim’s security footage shows that at 5:15am a female walked up his
drive way and rummaged through his car(s). The suspect exited one
vehicle carrying victim’s property. Suspect was last seen walking
in the City of Arcadia. Arcadia PD was notified for possible crimes
in their city. Case forwarded to Detectives for further investigation

At approximately 3:10pm officers responded to a report of a person
lying in the street at Auburn Ave and Grandview Ave. Officers
determined the person was under the influence of an intoxicating
beverage after further investigation. Sierra Madre Fire and
Paramedics also responded and treated victim before transporting
him to a local hospital for further treatment of a head contusion.

Saturday, May 28 A call of a non-injury traffic accident was reported
at 8:30am., in the 100 block of Esperanza Ave. Officers determined
that a driver, driving westbound veered into cars parked along the
