The YWCA also announced elected board officers: Angeline Chen, Board President; Emily Huang, Vice President; Grace Yuen, Treasurer; and Jennie Morales, Secretary. Ana Acevedo currently serves as Senior Corporate Affairs Counsel for PCV Murcor and is also a member of the Latina Lawyers Bar Association. Monica Benitez Andrade is the Marketing Manager for Andrade Gonzalez, LLP. Emily Huang is a certified public accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Accountants and CalCPA. YWCA Pasadena’s board members work hard to support the mission of the YWCA: Eliminating racism and empowering women. Humane Society to Open “Kitten-Garten” Kitten Nursery The Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA officials announced Thursday they are teaming up with the ASPCA (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) and County of Los Angeles Department of Animal Care and Control to open Kitten-Garten, a round-the-clock nursery for kittens four to eight weeks old at its Raymond Avenue Shelter. Kitten-Garten they said was made possible by a generous grant from the ASPCA in the amount of $325,000. Kitten-Garten, which will house kittens transported from Los Angeles County’s Baldwin Park Animal Care Center, is projected to save the lives of 1,000 kittens each year. 'All Things Apple' Class At Pasadena Senior Center The new features in iOS 11 will be the focus of a five- week “All Things Apple” class for members of the Pasadena Senior Center, 85 E. Holly St., Thursdays, to Sept. 28, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Designed for anyone thinking of purchasing an Apple device or anyone who has one and isn’t sure how to use it efficiently, the class will be taught by David Whitby, a technology productivity consultant. Whitby will cover what iOS devices are, their most popular uses for iPods, iPhones, iPads and Apple watches, how to navigate interfaces like a pro, take care of the devices and which apps are recommended.
