Do you have a Sierra Madre memory to tell?
This is your chance to have it recorded onvideo and stored at state and local archives.
You will be part of the state historical record!
AND there will be a presentation here intown of all the Sierra Madre videos created.

Sierra Madre Historical Preservation
Society members have regaled us with allkinds of wonderful memories of their lives in
town – we know you have stories to tell! Ifyou were raised here, what experiences andadventures did you have? If you moved toSierra Madre, what was it like then comparedto now? Do you have a memory connectedto a place, or to a person – maybe a leadingcitizen of our town, or even a local character?
These are just a few ideas to get you thinkingwhat memory you’d like to tell.

Part of this memory-gathering project,
California Listens, is a free 2-day workshopto create your little video (photos ormemorabilia relating to your story are a bigplus!). The workshop team will work withyou all the way through, and you’ll end upwith skills that could be useful for recordingmemories for your family, or doing othervideo projects. The California Listens DigitalStorytelling Workshop is set for Friday andSaturday May 11-12, 2018 from 9 am to 5 pmat City Hall, located at 232 W. Sierra MadreBlvd. in Sierra Madre.

In the workshop, participants will makea short video on a computer and will learn:
how to make a great video story, how towrite a narration script and record it, how toprepare a visual treatment for a story, and thebasics of video editing in WeVideo. Powerfuland fun! Anyone can contribute regardless ofexperience or technical level.

The deadline to apply is April 28th. Toapply, visit: storycenter.org/sierramadre or
