responded to approximately 314 day and 
night time calls for service.

Monday, September 17

At about 7:29AM, officers responded to a report 
of a child possibly injured after falling off her bicycle 
in the 300 block of E. Grandview Ave. The 
child was cleared and released to her parents following 
an evaluation by SMFD.

Tuesday, September 18

Around 6:00PM, an unknown male entered the 
business in the 00 block of N. Baldwin Ave and 
purchased an item with a $100.00 bill. The owner 
of the business discovered later that day that the 
$100.00 bill was counterfeit.

Case to Detectives

7:00PM

Two male suspects entered a business in the 00 
block of Kersting Ct. and purchased two meals. 
Each suspect paid with a counterfeit $100.00 bill. 
The total loss was $200.00.

Friday, September 21

Following a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation 
in the 100 block of W. Montecito Ave. an investigation 
revealed that the driver did not have 
a driver's license or an identification card in his 
possession. The driver was arrested for failure to 
provide identification and for driving a vehicle 
while being unlicensed. The driver was transported 
to the Pasadena Jail and booked.

Free on-air publicity for local events

 Sierra Madre’s EMERGENCY radio station is now accepting scripts 
for Public Service Announcements (PSAs) about community events. 
PSAs will be broadcast on the air at no charge. The station operates 
24/7 and can be heard at 1630 on the AM dial.

 Any local non-profit or non-commercial organization can have their 
event information broadcast to the public on Sierra Madre Community 
Information Radio. The station covers the city of Sierra Madre, plus 
surrounding areas of Pasadena, Arcadia, and Monrovia. 

Your event must:

• Benefit a non-commercial or non-profit entity
• Be open to the public
• Be of general interest to local citizens


Just 
write a Public Service Announcement that describes your event

HISTORICAL PIONEER 
CEMETERY TOUR

 Join the members of the Sierra Madre Historical 
Preservation Society as they take you to meet some 
of the historical people that are buried in our Pioneer 
Cemetery. You will hear them tell their stories; from 
Founding Fathers such as Carter and Richardson, 
business owners of the Hartman Pharmacy (now Best 
Buy Drugs) and Hotel Shirley, to mountain men and 
writers of children’s books! Men and Women who 
have played an important part in our town’s history 
will meet you at the entrance and even help to serve 
you light refreshments at the end of your tour. Music 
will be provided by the Vin Fiz Flyers

 Guided tours will start at 3:30 and run approximately 
every 20 minutes. The last tour will be at 5:30.p.m. 
Tours have moderate walking through the cemetery 
and are not handicapped accessible.

Ticket Prices: Adults: $12 ($15 at the door)
