Join the City of Pasadena in 
celebration of the World Cupon Friday, June 12 at 4:30p.m., for a free, open to thepublic watch party. Pasadenahas partnered with PasadenaCenter Operating Company(PCOC) and Los AngelesCounty Fifth District withfunding from LA Metro tofeature the opening U.S.A.
versus Paraguay soccer game,
offering a fun transit-first 
experience for fans of all ages.

 The event will take place at thePasadena Civic Auditorium 
Plaza at 300 E. Green St.,
transforming the street andplaza into a community eventspace. Event starts at 4:30 p.m.
and game starts at 6:00 p.m.
PST.

tournament to our city. We’relooking forward to bringingthe community and visitorstogether for a wonderful 
evening to cheer on Team

 The watch party will featurefood trucks, family-friendlyactivities, soccer themed 
games, live music, and 
drinks for purchase at thebeer garden. We encourageattendees to bring their 
favorite soccer gear and jerseyto iron-on custom artwork.

designated Transit-First FanZone Event is accessible and 
easy to reach using transit. 
You can take the Metro A 
Line to Memorial Park Station 
or Del Mar, the stations are10 min walk to the watch 
party. At the metro stations,

adding music, soccer matchhighlights, and wayfindingsupport to improve the riderexperience.

Now in its third year, the annualSoCal Gaming Expo is set to seethousands of video gammingenthusiasts descend on to the 
Pasadena Convention Center 
June 6 and June 7, to buy, play,
trade, modern items –or warpback to more nostalgic simplergenerations for rare collectibles.

 “Almost everything is back,
the skate ramp, the Tetris WorldChampionship.” said owner and 
event organizer, Kris Krohn.
“there are a few things that arenew, San Diego LAN.net a PCgaming group is going to bring abunch of older PC games, “bringyou own computer” and playQuake, Doom, Modern Warfare,
games like that, all LAN (LocalArea Network) connected.”

 Krohn said the marketplaceis expected to have over 245booths and that there will be a 
lot more standup arcade gamesto play. On Saturday there willbe cor64 chiptune music, “he isreally popular.” 

Skateboarding demos will againbe held on the Teenage MutantNinja Turtles ramp, built yearsago for a TMNT movie premiere.

Championship Finals will return 

to the Expo and feature 128players competing for a chanceat the world title.

 Many of the venders said theyhave seen a recent jump in thepopularity of older cartridgegames such as the Nintendo 64.

 “I think this year I expect tosee a lot of N64 because of the 
new systems coming out thatcan read the carts, I think N64will see a rise in trade value... 
and that era,” longtime collectorPhilip Sahagun said. “I don’treally follow treads, I buy what Ilike but I think its going towardsthe carts.”

 Sahagun said he will be sellinghis entire Nintendo Switch 
collection at the Expo, “I goingto sell off everything, and take adaughter to Tahiti.”

Gun Violence Awareness Day 

annually in honor of HadiyaPendleton, a 15-year-old whowas shot and killed in Chicagoin 2013, just one week afterperforming at President Obama’ssecond inauguration parade. 
Soon after this tragedy, Hadiya’sfriends commemorated her life 
by wearing orange, the colorhunters wear in the woods to 
protect themselves from others. 
The City of Pasadena encouragescommunity members to wearorange in support of the gunviolence prevention movementand to share photos on socialmedia using the hashtag#WearOrange. 
Orange ribbons will be madeavailable to Pasadena police 
officers and city employeesto wear on Friday, June 5, in 
will be distributed to the publicwhile supplies last from 9 a.m.

The Pasadena City Councilissued a proclamation last weekdeclaring June 5, National 
Gun Violence Awareness Dayin Pasadena. This day honorsand remembers victims and 
survivors of gun violence andsupports efforts to prevent futuregun violence they said.

recognition of National GunViolence Awareness Day, withofficers continuing to wear themthroughout the weekend. In

gun violence or honor a survivor.
