PUSD REJECTS DRAFT SCHOOL 
CONSOLIDATION PROPOSAL

 At its meeting on May 28, 2026, the Pasadena Unified School District Board of Education 
voted 6-1 against accepting the draft Equity Impact Analysis report presented as part of the 
school consolidation process. As a result, the previously scheduled public hearings, the board 
retreat related to the Equity Impact Analysis Report, and the board action on this process 
will not proceed as planned.

 The district and Board are taking time to consider the best path forward as we continue 
planning for our district's long-term future.

 The following related meetings scheduled in June will not occur: 

• June 11, 2026 - Public Hearing on draft Equity Impact Analysis Report - canceled 
o However, public hearings on LCAP and the Budget will take place as scheduled. 
• June 13, 2026 - Board of Education retreat on Discussion of Equity Impact Analysis 
Report - canceled 
The regular business Board of Education meeting will proceed as scheduled on June 25, 2026.

 PUSD would like to thank the students, families, staff, and community partners who 
engaged thoughtfully and passionately throughout this conversation, whether as members of 
the School Consolidation Advisory Committee (SCAC) or in public comment. We recognize 
that these discussions brought forward deeply held values about school identity, student 
needs, trust, and the future of our district.

 We are grateful for the continuing support of our community partners as we move forward 
together on behalf of students and schools. As always, our focus remains on what is best for 
students and shaping a strong future for PUSD.
