PSAs will be broadcast on the air at no charge. The station operates 24/7 and can be heard at 1630 on the AM dial. Any local non-profit or non-commercial organization can have their event information broadcast to the public on Sierra Madre Community Information Radio. The station covers the city of Sierra Madre, plus surrounding areas of Pasadena, Arcadia, and Monrovia. Thursday, October 19 A traffic stop for a vehicle violation was made in the 00 block of S. Mountain Trail Ave., showed that the driver of the vehicle was unlicensed. The driver was cited and the vehicle was released to a driver with a valid driver’s license. Friday, October 20 At about 1:30 p.m. an officer responded to the SMPD lobby regarding a fraud investigation. The victim was notified by her bank about fraudulent checks that had been cashed by several people. Case to Detectives Saturday, October 21 Officers were dispatched to the area of Baldwin Ave. and Highland Ave. where an individual was passed out on the sidewalk. After an investigation, the person was arrested for public intoxication and transported to the Pasadena PD jail where he was released to the on duty jail staff. The Virtual Reality system wassupplied through a grant from the California State Libraryin collaboration with Oculus VR, a division of Facebook Inc. The grant will help the Library to introduce visitorsto exciting new technology and fun new educationalexperiences. Virtual Reality is a computer technology that usesa headset to generate realistic images simulatingthe operator’s physical presence in an imaginaryenvironment.
