"EVERYWHERE YOU LOOK YOU SEE SIGNS OF PROGRESS" 
On Tuesday, Sierra Madre Mayor Gene Goss (right) delivered the 
2022 State of the City Address with an opening statement that focused 
on the progress that has been made in Sierra Madre. He noted that 
"true progress" means "moving forward". His remarks were preceded 
by the presentation of the Colors by Eagle Scout Abbott Fluckey and 
Cub Scout Troop 110. After the Pledge of Allegiance, the BethanyChristian School Choir (Pictured above), gave a beautiful and moving 
rendition of the National Anthem. 
The Mayor was introduced by Mayor Pro Tem Edward Garcia. May-
or Goss who has served eight years on the council (twice as Mayor), 
gave an overview of Sierra Madre's accomplishments in the last year 
including the town's Finance Departments balanced budget, the $9 
million dollar surplus; the successful Public Works projects including 
the Solar Project, the Street Renovation Project and the Street Rehab 
projects; the Water Department, the Library and Community Servic-
es achievements and awards. He praised all city staff made a special recognition of City Manager Jose Reynoso for the outstandingjob he has done since accepting the position. That acknowledgement brought applause from the audience. If you want to hear
