Sierra Madre City Council Reorganizes: 

FARMERS MARKET 
TO CLOSE JUNE

Raw Inspirations, the current operators 
of the Sierra Madre Farmer’s 
Market gave the city the required 
45 day notice of their intent to shut 
down operations as of June 4th.

 According to their termination notice, 
the market, which operated on 
Wednesday evenings had proved to 
be unprofitable, despite their best 
efforts. 


COMMUNITY 
MEETING 
PRIVATIZATION 
OF SIERRA MADRE 
POOL 

On Monday, April 28 at 6:00 pm in 
the Sierra Madre Council Chambers, 
a meeting will be held to give 
residents the opportunity to have 
their say regarding future privatization 
of the Sierra Madre Pool. 

City staff will be including any concerns 
raised at the meeting, as well 
as ideas for improvement, into the 
report on continuing to contract 
out the Sierra Madre Pool going to 
the Community Services Commission 
on May 12.

Mayor (John Harabedian) and the first time the city 
has had an Asian American council person (Rachelle 
Arizmendi).

 It was also the first time in a very long time that 
the transition was done in a very dignified manner 
without any animosity or personal attacks from the 
audience..

presented Councilman Koerber and Former Mayor

had accomplished during their time on the council.

placque. The trio was also recognized individually 
by Supervisor Michael Antonovich, Congresswoman 
Judy Chu, Assemblyman Chris Holden and the Sierra 
Madre Chamber of Commerce. 

Denise Delmar were sworn in by City Clerk NancyShollenberger.

 John Harabedian was then selected as the Mayor by thenewly seated council and John Capoccia was chosen asthe Mayor Pro-Tem.

 The new council will hold its first full meeting on May 
13th, and will be have on the agenda, among other 
things, the Mid-year budget review.
