Free on-air publicity for local events 
Sierra Madre’s EMERGENCY radio station is now accepting scripts 
for Public Service Announcements (PSAs) about community events. 
PSAs will be broadcast on the air at no charge. The station operates 
24/7 and can be heard at 1630 on the AM dial. 
Any local non-profit or non-commercial organization can have their 
event information broadcast to the public on Sierra Madre Community 
Information Radio. The station covers the city of Sierra Madre, plus 
surrounding areas of Pasadena, Arcadia, and Monrovia. 
Your event must: 
• Benefit a non-commercial or non-profit entity 
• Be open to the public 
• Be of general interest to local citizens 
Just write a Public Service Announcement that describes your event 
and e-mail it to radio@cityofsierramadre.com.

DESIGN A SUMMER THEMED 
BOOKMARK 

Local students are invited to enter the popular Bookmark Contest inMarch. This year’s theme is: Sierra Madre Summer Fun: Draw and writeabout spending summer in Sierra Madre.

Artwork may be written, drawn or designed with any tools but must becompletely original work - graphic designs are acceptable but must be cutand pasted onto the original application.

Applicants must be in kindergarten through 8th grade (includingtransitional kindergarten.)

Pick up your application at the Sierra Madre Public Library, on theLibrary website, and at schools in Sierra Madre starting March 1, 2018.
Entries are due by March 31, 2018 at the Library.

Winning entries will depict places, events, or people in Sierra Madre,

SIERRA MADRE POLICE BLOTTER 

During this period, the Sierra Madre Police Department responded toapproximately 355 day and night time calls for service. 

Tuesday, February 13

At about 7:15 p.m. officers responded to a report of a non-injury trafficaccident in the 100 block of W. Sierra Madre Blvd. 

Wednesday, February 15

A report of a man down at Grandview Ave. and Baldwin Ave. wasreported at about 1:10 p.m. The Sierra Madre Fire Department transportedthe victim to a local hospital for treatment. 

Thursday, February 16

A resident in the 100 block of E. Montecito Ave. reported that packagesshe was expecting were apparently taken by unknown person(s). Theresident was told by the shipping companies that the packages weresigned for with a name that the resident did not recognize. 

Sunday, February 18

A hit and run accident was reported in the 200 block of E. Laurel Ave.
A witness stated that a vehicle backed out of a driveway and struck avehicle that was legally parked directly south of the driveway and left thescene without leaving a note. 3:55 p.m.

Officers were dispatched to the 00 block of Esperanza Ave. for areported case of grand theft. The victim reported that some time between1/18/18 and 1/30/18 several pieces of valuable jewelry was removed fromher home by unknown person(s).
