PSAs will be broadcast on the air at no charge. The station operates 24/7 and can be heard at 1630 on the AM dial. Any local non-profit or non-commercial organization can have their event information broadcast to the public on Sierra Madre Community Information Radio. The station covers the city of Sierra Madre, plus surrounding areas of Pasadena, Arcadia, and Monrovia. Your event must: • Benefit a non-commercial or non-profit entity • Be open to the public • Be of general interest to local citizens Just write a Public Service Announcement that describes your event and e-mail it to radio@cityofsierramadre.com. SIERRA MADRE POLICE BLOTTER During this period, the Sierra Madre Police Department responded to approximately 249 day and night time calls for service. Monday, November 19 A woman called at about 3:33AM, to report that a man was trying to get into her parked vehicle. Officers arrived at the 300 block of N. Baldwin Ave. and contacted the subject who was found to be intoxicated. The man was arrested and transported to the Pasadena PD Jail for booking. Case to DA’s office 4:36PM Officers responded to a barking dog call in the 600 block of Camillo St at 430PM. Further investigation revealed that the dog was barking for a few days and may not have been properly cared for. Pasadena Humane Society was notified and removed the dog from the property. The dog has since been returned to the owner. 5:01PM A resident filed a theft report sometime between 11/18/18 at 8:00PM and 11/19/18 at 4:30PM, unknown person(s) removed two lawn chairs from her rear patio in the 00 block of E. Mira Monte Case to Detectives for follow up information Tuesday, November 20 A male riding a bicycle in the 100 block of S. Sunnyside Ave was stopped at about 1:39AM for a vehicle code violation. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the bicyclist was in possession of narcotic paraphernalia, and three identification cards belonging to other people, he also had two outstanding warrants. The subject was arrested and transported to the Pasadena PD jail. Case to DA’s office Saturday, November 24 In the 700 block of W. Sierra Madre Bl., a resident called at 1:20PM regarding her vehicle being broken into. Upon arrival, officers made contact with a second resident whose vehicle was also broken into. Apparently, unknown suspect(s) used an antenna to gain entry into one of the vehicles and disarmed the alarm on the second vehicle. Personal items were missing from both vehicles. Case to Detectives. Sunday, November 25 Officers responded to a call for service at about 2:40AM regarding a vehicle speeding around the area of Auburn Ave. and Sierra Madre Blvd. Officers located a vehicle in that area. After contacting the driver of the vehicle, officers administered field sobriety tests. It was determined that the driver was driving under the influence of alcohol. The subject was arrested, transported and released to Pasadena Jail.
