VETERANS OF
FOREIGN WARS
#3208

Sierra Madre has been home to Post
#3208 of the Veterans of Foreign
Wars (VFW) for over 100 years. The
VFW is America’s oldest patriotic
and fraternal organization for
veterans of the Armed Services.

Our local post members provide
the color guard at civic events,
host annual holiday observances,
and represented veterans issues
at gatherings from here in the
San Gabriel Valley all the way to
Washington D.C.

In the past year, in addition to other
acts, we helped serve the homeless,
supported the student veterans of
Pasadena City College, awarded
scholarships, and assisted in the
distribution of holiday meals and
toys to young veterans.

The accompanying photo is of
past-Post Commander Dave Loera
accepting citations for the post’s
efforts from Supervisor Barger and
Congresswoman Chu.

Mark your calendar for this
coming March 23rd at 1100 when
we will host in Memorial Park a
ceremony honoring ALL Veterans
of the Vietnam War, not just VFW
members.

Everyone in the community is encouraged to join us in this important recognition of those veterans who served in Vietnam.

Regular meetings are held at 3:00 on the second Sunday of each month at The Hart House in Memorial Park (222 W. Sierra Madre Blvd.).

Contact information: Commanders Dave Loera (d.loera@verizon.net) or Harold “Doc” Martin (hfmartin@pasadena.edu).
