THERE IS NO PLACE LIKE...SIERRA MADRE!
Resident's of the city, under the direc-
tion of a magnificent all volunteer July4th Committee, pulled off a weekend
of events that made all those in at-
tendance forget for a moment, about
2020. There are no words that ad-
equately describe the spirit in the air.
From the houses decorated through-
out the town, the Outdoor Movie and
Block Party on Saturday night, to the
very last float on Monday, the feeling
of things returning back to normal
was in the air.
Along with Sierra Madre's distin-
guished Mayor, City Council and Fire
and Police Chiefs, Congresswoman
Judy Chu, LA County Supervisor
Kathryn Barger and Pasadena Uni-
fied Superintendant Brian McDonald
were delighted to participate in Mon-
day's Parade.
A glimpse of a few of the parade par-
ticipants are on pages 2 and 3. Check
out the City's Facebook page for more.
Special thanks to Ken Fong for his pic-
ture of the SMPD leader busy bonding
with residents! MVNews
Above is St. Rita School's entry which was all smooth sailing down the blvd; Right are Supervisor Katheryn
Barger, Mayor Arizmendi and Congresswoman Judy Chu standing in the newly renovated Kersting Court.

CITY COUNCIL RETURNS TO CHAMBERS
Bob and Nell Solt pictured above, have literally greeted thousands of
visitors to their home in Sierra Madre over their 40 years as residents.
You see, Bob and Nell Solt, for 40 years, hosted the entire city and
thousands of guests to view the spectacular Wistaria Vine in their
backyard.
The couple recently sold their home and will be living closer to their
son and daughter in law near San Diego.
The Solt's welcomed visitors to the vine, without compensation, just
for the pleasure of sharing their treasure with the world. This photo
was taken on Thursday the day before the movers came to take our
gracious hosts away. Thank you Bob and Nell for all you have given to
so many people. You will never be forgotten. S. Henderson/MVNews
